Andrea is passionate about inspiring young people to get excited about sport and encouraging them to keep fit, healthy, and strong.
She wants to instill in every child that they have the ability to participate in all types of sport and, importantly to succeed. She believed that participating in sport helps boost a child’s self-worth and instill a confidence that lasts into their adult years.
To reach as many young people as possible, Andrea offers a programme of inspiring opportunities for schools to take advantage of and the chance for children to participate in and learn about different sports which schools may not be able to offer.
Andrea offers school visits through which she can provide the following:
- An inspiring Assembly that details the history of the Olympics from its conception to the present day, and brilliant anecdotes of her experience competing as an Olympic Athlete. Andrea also brings with her memorabilia from her time competing to share with children.
- One off PE lessons – Andrea can take groups of children for one off fun and engaging PE lessons and athletics training sessions.
Christopher Toye, Executive Headteacher of The Wyvern Federation, said:
“Andrea’s visit was informative and exciting for all, she shared her passion for sport with the children that expressed both the enjoyment of taking part as well as the determination and character needed to compete successfully.
“Our pupils also loved participating in the Youth Olympics and everyone is looking forward to her next visit.”
Andrea hosts large sporting events timed and themed around global sporting event such as the Olympics and Kids of the Commonwealth Games. She is more than happy to accommodate large groups of children from schools, targeting ages 7-14.
As part of this offering Andrea provides assemblies and one-off PE classes to all the children who will be participating, ensuring they have a clear understanding of the events, their history and all the sporting activities they will be competing in on the day.
Every Olympics year Andrea hosts a Youth Olympics, inviting hundreds of children from local schools to participate in the fantastic sporting festival for free.
This is normally held at Battersea Park Athletics Track but Andrea is looking to reach more schools throughout London and will be looking to host further events at tracks throughout London.
At the first of her Youth Olympics events this year, children had the opportunity to meet Olympic gold medalists Daley Thompson and Tessa Sanderson who handed out prizes to all the children on the day. It was a huge success and was thoroughly enjoyed by all those who attended.
Andrea is fully DBS Certified. If you are interested in having Andrea attend your school for an assembly please get in touch via the contact page.
